<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an entire image bright by decreasing the amount of current made to flow into a panel when the brightness of display image is high, and increasing the amount of current when the brightness is low, while protecting an organic EL element and battery. <P>SOLUTION: It is analyzed that the image degradation at the time of the changeover of the insertion method of black is caused by the decrease of the brightness and the change of the interval of black insertion in the changeover. In the driving method of the organic EL display device, the decrease of brightness is prevented by gradually changing the interval of black insertion while controlling the divided insertion and the batch insertion. A drive circuit 853 for carrying out batch insertion of black and a drive circuit 854 for carrying out divided insertion of black are prepared and a circuit configuration of controlling the two drive circuits is prepared. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
