<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of reading errors caused by a reading speed when a card passing person passes a magnetic card at prescribed speed. <P>SOLUTION: This card reader has: a card passage part through which the card passes; a card information reading means reading information about the card passing through the card passage part; a reading decision means deciding whether a card information reading part has been able to read the information about the card or not; a card passage speed measuring means measuring a passage speed of the card passing through the card passage part; and a notification means notifying information for prompting a speed at which the card is passed, to the card passing person, on the basis of a result measured by the card passage speed measuring means. When deciding that the reading means has not been able to perform the reading, the card reader notifies the information for prompting the speed at which the card is passed, to the card passing person. Therefore, when the reading error is generated because the reading speed is not a speed within a prescribed range after the card passing person passes the magnetic card, a problem wherein the reading error is generated many times because the card passing person cannot obtain information for knowing the prescribed range is solved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
