PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having a one-body type cap assembly which has a high sealing performance between a laminated assembly including a safety vent, a current breaker, a PTC, and a positive electrode cap and an insulating gasket surrounding the laminated assembly, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The secondary battery having a one-body type cap assembly 230 is composed of a laminated assembly including a safety vent, a current breaker 232, a PTC 233, and a positive electrode cap 234 and an insulating gasket 235 integrally molded with the laminated assembly in a state that one part of the edge of the laminated assembly is inserted, and the manufacturing method of the same is provided. Thereby, the sealing performance between the insulating gasket 235 surrounding the edge of the laminated assembly can be improved and cost reduction or the like can be realized in the process of forming the cap assembly 230.
