METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIBER-REINFORCED METAL COMPOSITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber-reinforced metal composite having a high content of an inorganic fiber by imparting heat resistance and compatible bonding property to the inorganic fiber composited with a molten metal. SOLUTION: This method for imparting heat resistance and compatible bonding property to the inorganic fiber inserted into the molten metal is provided by immersing for impregnating a structural material composed of fine fibers-bundled material or fibrous bundle into a solution obtained by solubilizing an inorganic material with a solvent for filling the gaps among the fibers, then evaporating the solvent for bonding and curing among the fibers with the remaining inorganic material to make a structural material containing the fiber bundled material with the inorganic material to prevent the deterioration of the fiber caused by heat on inserting the fiber into the molten metal and impart the compatible bonding property for compositing with the metal.
