PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorating method, by which a desired pattern can be applied to a wall surface, a door or the like, a decorating article displaying indoors or the like can be easily formed to have a desired pattern, which requires neither tools nor the like at the formation of pattern and with which the formation can be easily performed even by a beginner, and a decorating article. SOLUTION: This decorating method is equipped with an arbitrarily shaped base 10, within which a space 10a is formed and on the outside of which an opening part 10b is provided, a net 2 disposed in tension on the opening part 10b of the base 10 and a large number of elastic wire-like thrusting members 1. The thrusting member 1 is bent in two so as to thrust both the sides of the thrusting member 1 through the two different meshes 2a of the net 2 disposed in tension on the base 10 into the space 10a in order to form the pattern 3 on the net 2 by the thrusting members 1.
