The template (1) has bores (2,3) for drilling several sockets or switches in a row, especially in hollow walls, and spirit levels (5) for orienting the template. One of the bores has such a diameter size that is equal to the internal diameter of a narrow ring applied to the rear of the template, whereby the internal diameter of the rings is a continuation of the bore in the template and the external diameter is equal to the diameter of a socket or switch housing.
