The band of the ring has a radial hole with internal thread, at a notional 12 o'clock position. This fastens the rosette (jewel carrier, precious metal motif etc.), allowing it to be screwed in or out. Several interchangeable rosettes may be provided, including e.g. stones, pearls, sequins or other decoration.
