<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for detecting a target base sequence present in a test sample with high sensitivity and specificity, a simple method for detecting one variation of the base in the target base of the target base sequence and a probe used for the method. <P>SOLUTION: The probe is able to form a multiway junction structure including a first, a second and a third stem structures and contains, in order, a sequence for forming the first stem structure by forming a base pair with the first arm of the target base sequence, a sequence for forming the third stem structure containing a restriction enzyme recognition sequence by forming a base pair in the molecule and a sequence for forming the second stem structure by forming a base pair with the secondary arm of the target base sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
