<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic guided carriage guiding method by a magnetic substance for greatly reducing magnetic influence from a steel plate while minimizing a cutout width in the steel plate and increasing detection precision of the magnetic substance by a magnetism detection sensor for stably securing travel precision of the automatic guided carriage when the magnetic substance is embedded along a conveying passage for the automatic guided carriage by cutting out the steel plate on the floor face. <P>SOLUTION: In this guiding method for the automatic guided carriage guided to travel by detecting the magnetic substance 1 embedded along the conveying passage, cut ends 2a and 2b, which face each other while putting the magnetic substance 1 between them, of the steel plate 2 are connected together by metal joint via a groove-shaped steel 8, for example, which is arranged so that its bottom part upper face is positioned apart below the lower face of the magnetic substance 1 when the magnetic substance is embedded by cutting out the steel plate 2 placed on the floor face.
