PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of steps for manufacturing a thin-film transistor (TFT) array substrate, and to reduce the unit price of manufacture in manufacturing a horizontal electric field type liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The horizontal electric field type liquid crystal display panel is provided with the TFT array substrate having a TFT compatible with the horizontal electric field type liquid crystal display panel, a protective film for protecting the TFT, a pixel electrode 122 connected to the TFT, a common electrode 184 connected to a common line 186 and forming a horizontal electric field together with the pixel electrode, and a pad connected to one among a gate line 102, a data line 104 and the common line 186 and formed on a transparent conductive film 170; and a color filter array substrate placed opposite to and attached to the TFT array substrate.
