摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the delay of analysis time of gas by scanning an application voltage in a gas sensor for detecting an ion current by having gas molecules ionized by a strong electric field. SOLUTION: The gas sensor comprises a number of columnar conductors 203; a flat electrode 205 that opposes the tip section; a power supply 106, in which the columnar conductors 203 and flat electrodes 205 are set to be positive and negative electrodes, respectively; and a means 107 for detecting the ion current flowing between the columnar conductors 203 and the flat electrodes 205. The columnar conductors 203 are arranged according to the magnitude of the diameter, and a number of flat electrodes 205 are arranged along the array, thus changing the electric field strength at the tip section of the columnar conductors 203 along the array, even though the same voltage is being applied to all the columnar conductors 203, so that the electric field for generating the ionization of gas molecules is detected without having to scan the supply voltage.
