PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas purity measuring apparatus of a dynamo-electric machine having a small risk in which the measurement of gas purity fails. SOLUTION: A valve control section 101 for controlling a second valve 104 and a first valve 113 according to the measured value of a gas purity measuring section 102 and a gas flow rate measuring section 103 is provided. The second valve 104 is closed and the first valve 113 is opened, when a generator 100 is operating. Gas in the generator 100 is passed through the gas purity measuring section 102 and the gas flow rate measuring section 103 for circulation, and the measured values of the gas purity measuring section 102 and the gas flow rate measuring section 103 are monitored. When both the measured values decrease, the first valve 113 is closed, and the second valve 104 is opened for communicating with atmosphere connecting piping 108, Moisture in the piping is released into the atmosphere from the second valve 104 along with gas, and the second valve 104 is closed and the first valve 113 is opened, when the gas purity returns to a specified value or smaller.
