PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kerosene composition which permits stable operation of heating apparatuses over a long period of time, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The kerosene composition comprises a kerosene base material which is obtained by deeply hydrogenating a raw material oil such as a hydrogenated refined oil at a reaction temperature of 100-350°C under a hydrogen pressure of 1-6 MPa at a liquid hourly space velocity of 0.1-4 h<SP>-1</SP>at a hydrogen/oil ratio of 70-500 NL/L in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and which has distillation characteristics of an initial boiling point of 140°C or higher, an end point of 300°C or lower and a 50 vol% distillation temperature of 190-230°C, a naphthene content of at least 20 vol%, a whole aromatic content of at most 15 vol%, a bicyclic or higher aromatic content of at most 1 vol%, a volume ratio of naphthene content/whole aromatic content of at least 2.0, a sulfur content of at most 10 mass ppm and a density at 15°C of 770-820 kg/m<SP>3</SP>.
