PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating solid pollutants suspended in a liquid, which comprises a step to produce an air bubble stream where many minute air bubbles are diffused/mixed in the liquid, which is to be treated, contains the solid pollutants and is stored in a floating separation tank, by sucking air and the liquid to be treated from the lower part of the floating separation tank and agitating/mixing the sucked air with the sucked liquid to be treated by using a pump so that the cost for removing the solid pollutants is made inexpensive and the normal operation of the pump is not hindered by the solid pollutants in the liquid to be treated. SOLUTION: The air bubble stream where many minute air bubbles are diffused/mixed in the liquid, which is to be treated, contains the solid pollutants and is stored in the floating separation tank, is produced by sucking air and the liquid to be treated from the lower part of the floating separation tank and agitating/mixing the sucked air with the sucked liquid to be treated by using the pump.
