<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance light emission efficiency by reducing a color temperature change of color mixture light by a luminescence observation azimuth. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device has: a light emitting element 103 where electrodes 208 and 209 are oppositely bonded to a conductive pattern 207 of a support substrate 101 through a conductive member 102; and wavelength converting members 104 and 105 which contain a phosphor 106 emitting light having different wavelength by absorbing at least a part of the light emitted from the light emitting element 103, and covers at least a part of the light emitting element 103. The wavelength converting member 104 is separated from the conductive member 102.
