PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor capable of effectively utilizing the characteristics of carbon nanotubes and having high electric characteristics or mechanical characteristics. SOLUTION: In the capacitor, at least one of a pair of electrodes which are opposed to each other is constituted of a carbon nanotube structure constituting network structure in which functional groups of a plurality of carbon nanotubes to which the functional groups are connected are mutually bridged by chemical coupling. The method for manufacturing a capacitor includes an application process for applying a solution containing a plurality of carbon nanotubes to which functional groups are coupled to the surface of a base body, and a bridging process for forming the carbon nanotube structure constituting the network structure in which the plurality of carbon nanotubes are mutually bridged by chemically coupling these functional groups so that the carbon nanotube structure is constituted as at least one electrode out of the pair of opposed electrodes.
