PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure control apparatus for applying proper exposure control to an imaging apparatus for detecting objective information from a photographed image. SOLUTION: An exposure control apparatus 1 adjusts an exposure error so that the exposure error settles within an exposure permissible range while changing the shutter speed of an image sensor 11 and the amount of gain correction of a PGA 12 depending on the magnitude of the exposure error. Further, the exposure control apparatus 1 changes the shutter speed of the image sensor 11 and the amount of gain correction of the PGA 12 at prescribed different rates of change in response to control sensitivity received from a micro controller 30. Moreover, if flicker takes place after the exposure error is converged in the exposure permissible range, the exposure control apparatus 1 sets control sensitivity low. Thus, the exposure control apparatus 1 can carry out proper exposure control to detect the objective information from the photographed image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
