PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cutoff device for a shield machine which improves water cutoff performance between the outside and inside of the shield machine at a joint portion, in connecting two shield tunnels. SOLUTION: The first shield machine 5 has the water cutoff device 1 on an outer trunk 11. The water cutoff device 1 is provided with a rubber sheet 2 and a water cutoff seal 3. The rubber sheet 2 is provided with cloth 22 which functions to regulate the expanding direction of the rubber sheet 2 to increase the pressing force of the water cutoff seal 3.
