Disclosed is a stepped cone type electrode plate and nickel/metal hydride secondary battery having the same. The electrode plate of the secondary battery of the current invention includes a substrate having predetermined pores, and an active material layer coated at both sides of the substrate. Further, the substrate has at least one stepped cone. As for the inventive electrode plate, the substrate is stepped cone-shaped, whereby a horizontal movement of the active material layer attached to the substrate can be prevented. Also, a contact surface between the active material layer and the substrate increases and hence adhesivity therebetween becomes high. Thereby, the use of the inventive electrode plate results in a decreased separation of the active material from the substrate. Moreover, in the nickel/metal hydride secondary battery using the inventive electrode plate, the separation of the active material is decreased, therefore increasing the stability of the battery. |
