Fencing with integral intruder alarm, has space between beam and cover profile for installing cabling

The fencing (1) includes a beam (3, 4) extending between two adjacent fence posts (2), a removable cover profile (10) which is secured and can be moved relative to the beam and a cable lead-through space between the beam and profile. The wire which is used to detect an intruder is deformable when the profile is moved relative to the beam. The wire extends between the fence posts and a sensor is used to detect any unauthorised wire disturbance. The wire is an optical cable and sensor is used to detect any change in the light conductivity of the cable.
