PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently extract wind energy by a windmill with an inventive shape and installation position of a concentrator. SOLUTION: This concentrator is provided with a wind collecting opening 7 and a wind exhausting opening 8, and is disposed at a windward side of the windmill 1. Each of the wind collecting opening 7 and the wind exhausting opening 8 has a generally circular form and their centers are positioned generally in alignment with a rotation shaft of the windmill 1. The area of the wind collecting opening 7 is larger than a rotation area of a blade 3 of the windmill. The area of the wind exhausting opening 8 is smaller than the area of the wind collecting opening 7, and is smaller than the rotation area of the blade 3 of the windmill.
