PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-purity tritylpiperazine derivative. SOLUTION: The method for producing the high-purity tritylpiperazine derivative comprises treating a composition containing the corresponding tritylpiperazine derivative of the general formula(1) in an organic solvent in the presence of an acid. In general formula(1), R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each either one of (i) H, (ii) a 1-4C alkyl, (iii) a 1-4C alkoxy, (iv) a halogen group, (v) COOH, (vi) a carbamoyl group and (vii) an N-1-4C alkylcarbamoyl group, excepting that all of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are hydrogen atom.
