PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a document category to which inputted document data belong with high precision. SOLUTION: As for inputted current document data, a 1st score allocated to a matching 1st word or phrase in a category dictionary table is multiplied by a coefficient a 2nd word or phrase which is used each time the 2nd word or phrase appears to accumulate a 3rd score, and the document category that the current document data belong to is determined based upon the 3rd score.
