摘要 A coating of Pd, Pt, Rh or a mixture of Pd and Rh, Pt and Rh or Pt and Ir is deposited on one or both surfaces of a PdAg alloy membrane to form a fuel cell electrode as described in Specification 1,033,362, after first exposing the membrane to hydrogen either by passing hydrogen into the membrane at a high temperature or by cathodic treatment in sulphuric acid or potassium hydroxide. Palladium may be deposited in a bath of PdCl2. The membrane may be supported on an O-ring between a polythene container (Fig. 2, not shown) and a cap having a platinum mesh electrode. The coating being deposited with or without an applied current.
