PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knit for a swimming suit reducing feeling of cold on the body caused after coming out from a pool, reducing unpleasant feeling to a wearer, and satisfying stretchability of the cloth required for the swimming suit, and sensuousness, and also to inexpensively provide the swimming suit using the knit. SOLUTION: The knit for the swimming suit is the knit having the back layer consisting essentially of a synthetic multifilament yarn. The back layer is subjected to raising finishing, and regulated so as to have≤30% water-holding capacity when wetted. The knit has 70-140% elongation in warp and weft both directions.
