The block is suitable for processing a printing ink containing a luminous pigment and consists of wear-resistant non-metallic material. The engraving formed in the block is larger than the maximum particle size of the luminous pigment. The block consists of ceramic or glass and the engraving is formed by laser radiation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an arrangement for applying a printed image to an object by tampon printing (B) and an object with a printed image applied by tampon printing.
