In a jaw crusher which has its movable jaw 8 driven by a pitman 11 and toggle plates, the toggle-plate 13 connected with the movable jaw bears on a seat 18 which is adjustable on the jaw and arranged to be clamped in the adjusted position. One or more shims 20 are used to adjust the seat and these are retained against longitudinal movement by a depending lug which ensures a recess in a step portion 19 of the jaw, a clearance 30 being provided between the top of the shims and a block 21 which clamps the seating in position. The seat 18 is also provided with a depending lug engaging in the recess in the step 19. The clamping block 21 is moved to and from the seating 18 by means of a pair of rods 22 which are secured to the block and slide in lugs 23, 24 on the rear of the jaw under the action of nuts 28, 29 on threaded portions of the rods.</p> |
