<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device where the rotation angle of a steering wheel can be varied without enlargement or the increase of costs, and the steering wheel is automatically returned to its neutral position when releasing an operation load in the middle of operation. <P>SOLUTION: At the rotary shaft 3 of this steering device 1, a cam plate 7 having a cam groove 8 formed spirally is supported pivotally. A stopper member 9 slidable along the cam groove 8 is engaged with the cam groove 8. When the cam plate 7 is rotated following the rotation of the steering wheel 2, the cam groove 8 is also rotated, and slides with respect to the stopper member 9 to make the steering wheel 2 rotatable at a prescribed rotation angle.
