<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide user communication equipment, including a business card agent for controlling communications by electronic mail. <P>SOLUTION: The communication control software application of the user communication equipment includes a phone application, including a business card database storing a plurality of business cards. Each business card identifies the characteristics of an opposite provider which electronic mail is to be sent to or received from. The business card includes an associated business card agent defined by an agent software routine controlling how electronic mail is to be communicated between the user and the particular provider. A message application initiates the transmission and reception of the electronic mail. The phone application and the message application decide if the business card agent is to be associated with the business card of the opposite provider, to whom the electronic mail is to be sent or to be received, and in response thereto, the agent software routine is executed to control the communication of the electronic mail. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
