<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a poor function caused by the destruction of an LSI or the poor wire connection of a wire connection member and the like with respect to the bending of an IC card. <P>SOLUTION: A portable electronic device includes: an IC module 1 having the LSI 3 mounted on one side surface of a substrate 2 and a protection member 6 which covers the LSI 3; and a card base K having a holding recess 9 into which the IC module 1 is inserted from the protection member 6 side for being held.
