PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical power-balance adjustment method for a laser scan unit enabling the optical power of a laser beam emitted from the laser scan unit to be automatically adjusted, and provide an optical power-balance adjustment method for multi-beam laser scan unit adjusting a balance among the optical powers of many laser beams emitted from a multi-beams laser scan unit. SOLUTION: The first and second voltage values, respectively corresponding to the values at the time of the first and second laser beams emitted from the laser scan unit being detected, are acquired. These voltage values are recorded in the laser scan unit, which is made mounted on an image formation device. After that the laser scan unit is made driven, then the third and fourth voltage values, respectively corresponding to the values at the time of the first and second laser beams emitted from the laser scan unit being detected, are acquired. The third and fourth values are compared with the first and second values, respectively, then only by the deviation the control voltage controlling the laser scan unit is made corrected.
