PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cover mounting structure for mounting an engine cover on an internal combustion engine body or on a member mounted on the internal combustion engine body. SOLUTION: The engine cover mounting structure comprises the engine cover 45 mounted on the internal combustion engine body 1 or on the member 30 mounted on the internal combustion engine body 1, a rotor 19 provided on the internal combustion engine body 1 or on a member 18 integrated with the internal combustion engine body 1, and a protrusion 49 provided from the reverse face of the engine cover 45. The protrusion 49 from the engine cover 45 has a front end 50 arranged at a preset space from a portion 18a located near the rotor 19 on the internal combustion engine body 1 or on the member 18 integrated with the internal combustion engine body.
