PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsifier dispersion which can give additional values to shampoos, rinses or other liquid cleansers, and to provide a method for producing the emulsifier dispersion. SOLUTION: This method for producing the emulsifier dispersion, comprising mixing a fatty acid glycol ester with a surfactant-containing component containing at least one surfactant selected from a nonionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant at a higher temperature than the melting point of the fatty acid glycol ester, and then mixing the mixture with a cooling medium to cool the mixture, is characterized by the following characteristics. The mass ratio of the amount (solid content) of at least one surfactant selected from the anionic surfactant and the amphoteric surfactant to the amount of the fatty acid glycol ester is 0.1 to 5. The mass ratio of the amount (solid content) of the nonionic surfactant to the amount of the fatty acid glycol ester is 0 to 0.24. When the mixture is mixed with the cooling medium to directly cool the mixture, a cooling rate is≥1°C/min at temperatures near to the melting point of the fatty acid glycol ester.
