<p>An improved mattress with pocketed springs (2) has the springs arranged in lines and with the spring support varied by replacing some of the springs, in selected pockets, by a compressible medium. This enables the manufacturer to custom build the mattress to suit particular requirements, e.g. to match the size and weight of the user. Suitable compressible inserts include inflated plastic gas cushions, plastic foam, coated foam, latex etc. The arrays of inserts are linked by connecting straps positioned through slots in the main pockets.</p> |
