The handling device (24) handles sleeves (20) for the cylinders of printing presses. It has a carrier tube (26), on which a clamping device (28) is mounted. The clamping device clamps the sleeve in a position which is co-axial with the carrier tube, and may be mounted on one end of it, in the form of a stepped disk forming a stop for the end of the sleeve and with a reduced-diameter sector to engage in the end of the sleeve.
