TRANSFER UNIT ATTACHING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED THEREWITH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer unit attaching device which facilitates attachment and detachment of a transfer unit to and from an image forming apparatus and relaxes impact on the transfer unit when the transfer unit is attached to the image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus equipped therewith.

SOLUTION: The transfer unit attaching device for attaching/detaching the transfer unit including a transfer belt driven by a plurality of rollers and a housing for protecting the transfer belt includes at least one guide projection provided in the transfer unit, at least one guide rail for guiding the guide projection, and at least one damping unit elastically holding the transfer unit so as to prevent the impact from being transferred to the transfer unit when the transfer unit is attached to the image forming apparatus.
