<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional optical transmitter in an optical transmission system that it is possible for the laser diode of the optical transmitter to cause excessive emission because an optical output control circuit recognizes that a current flowing through the laser diode is deficient, resulting in increasing a bias current when a monitor photodiode is defective and a monitor current signal decreases. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided with a current limit resistor 11 to the side of a transistor 10 for supplying a drive current 12 to the laser diode 1, and a current limit resistor 15 to the collector side of a transistor 14 for supplying a bias current 16 to the laser diode 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
