<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new development method for always forming good images by eliminating the phenomenon that toner of a large diameter is selectively consumed in a hybrid development method. <P>SOLUTION: When a magnetic brush M is formed on a surface of a magnetic roll 3 with a two-component developer comprising a toner T and a magnetic carrier C, a thin layer TL of the toner is formed on a surface of a developing roll 2 with the magnetic brush M, and an electrostatic latent image on a surface of an electrostatic latent image carrier 1 is developed to a toner image with the thin layer Tl of the toner, toner having an average of circularity of ≥0.94 is used as the toner T, wherein the circularity is represented by the ratio C<SB>2</SB>/C<SB>1</SB>between the peripheral length C<SB>1</SB>of a projected image obtained by projecting each toner particle on a flat surface and the peripheral length C<SB>2</SB>of a circle having the same area as the projected image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
