IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND FIXING APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus and a digital copying machine in which period of time from indication of beginning of image formation till finish of fixing can be shortened and less electric power is necessary.

SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus includes a cylinder formed of a metal of thin wall thickness and an exciting coil which is provided in the cylinder and generates an eddy current. When power is applied, all electric power excluding electric power consumed by the apparatuses except the fixing apparatus is supplied to the exciting coil to heat an endless member. Further as each constituent of the copying machine and an auxiliary apparatus further added to the copying machine operate, electric power resulting from subtracting electric power consumed by each constituent of the copying machine and the auxiliary apparatus further added to the copying machine from input allowable power is supplied to the coil to heat the endless member. Thereby a heating roller of the fixing apparatus is heated to temperature where fixing can be performed in a short period of time and period of time from indication of beginning of copying till output of a fixed matter on which a toner image formed by copying operation is fixed can be shortened.
