PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient scroll compressor of a symmetrical lap shape free of overturn even in a low compression ratio. SOLUTION: A fixed scroll 12 has such a so-called asymmetrical lap shape that the inner wall of a scroll lap 12b of the fixed scroll 12 is formed by the inner wall curve of the scroll lap 12b of the fixed scroll 12 which extends close to the scroll end of the outer wall curve of a scroll lap 13b of a rotary scroll 13. Herein, a groove 12c protruded toward the outer periphery is formed on the inner wall of the scroll lap 12b of the fixed scroll 12 in a range from a position, where the involute angle of the inner wall curve of the scroll lap 12b of the fixed scroll 12 is equal to the ending involute angle of the inner wall curve of the scroll lap 13b of the rotary scroll 13, to the scroll end of the inner wall curve of the scroll lap 12b of the fixed scroll 12.
