PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording paper from being erroneously picked up in a recorder having different bins for recording papers discharged by a normal recording operation and an interruption recording operation. SOLUTION: In the case where a normal recording operation is carried out, the recording paper is discharged to a first bin 38a when copying for reading image data by scanning a manuscript by means of a reading section 2 is performed, the recording paper is discharged to a second bin 38b when facsimile communication is carried out, and the recording paper is discharged to a third bin 38c when image data from an external PC is received. In the case where an interruption recording operation is carried out, the recoding paper is discharged to a fourth bin 38d in the interruption copying, and the recording paper is discharged to a fifth bin 38e in the interruption recording based on an instruction from the external PC. After the interruption recording operation is completed, the fact that the recording paper is discharged to the fourth bin 38d is notified of a user by an image and/or a sound in the interruption copying and the information that the recording paper is discharged to the fifth bin 38e is sent to the PC in the interruption recording based on the instruction from the PC.
