According to the present invention there is provided a substance capable f inhibiting the bad smell of the feet, this substance consisting of elementar y sulphur, preferably in the micronized state. It can be advantageously applie d to socks, stockings or any other textile or footwear product intended to com e into ( direct or indirect ) with the part to be deodorized. To this end, the active principle is combined with other substances with a view to obtaining a stable fixing to the support, assuring a persisting release of the active principle in the course of time, and this even after subsequent washings.</S DOAB>
