PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce restrictions that affect a dynamic allocation with minimal effect on the existing prescripts in a time division multiple access system. SOLUTION: In order to add alternatives in the allocation of communication channels, packet data transmission is controlled in a TDMA wireless network. In order to avoid conflicts in operating conditions, a period of two slots is assigned to the measurement and reception preparation of an adjacent cell signal level. When the number of transmission slots is a predetermined number, a period of two slots is assigned to the measurement and transmission preparation of the adjacent cell signal level.
