METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALKYLBENZALDEHYDES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing alkylbenzaldehydes in good yield without using a compressor for boron trifluoride when alkylbenzenes unstable in a hydrogen fluoride/boron trifluoride catalyst are used as raw materials. SOLUTION: The method for producing alkylbenzaldehydes by the reaction of two steps of a step of preparing a complex solution between an alkylbenzene substituted with a≥2C alkyl group whose carbon atom bonded to the aromatic ring is a secondary carbon atom as the raw material and a hydrogen fluoride/boron trifluoride catalyst and a step of formylation reaction with carbon monoxide comprises adding a 6-10C aliphatic or alicyclic saturated hydrocarbon which contains a tertiary carbon atom and does not contain a quaternary carbon atom to the above step of preparing the complex solution.
