PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier capable of effectively suppressing residual distortion included in a synthesized amplified signal. SOLUTION: The amplifier is provided with: a distributor 1 for distributing an input signal into a plurality of paths; a plurality of common amplifiers 20 for controlling distortion compensation on the basis of a residual distortion detection voltage from a reception section 5 and outputting a result of applying amplification and distortion compensation to the output of the distributor 1; a composite unit 3 for compositing outputs of a plurality of the common amplifiers 20 and providing an output of the composited output externally; and a reception section 5 for detecting the residual distortion from the output of the composite unit 3 and outputting the detected distortion to a plurality of the common amplifiers 20 as the residual distortion detection voltage.
