Multicomponent-kit for PU-based, waterblown foam of low density and brittleness, its use and process

In a multi-component kit with polyisocyanate and water in separate components for the production of lightweight polyurethane foam without using other blowing agents, the proportions of the components are such that the free-foamed product has a density of less than 25 kg/m3> and at least some of the polyisocyanate is in the form of prepolymers. A multi-component kit comprising (a) a polyisocyanate component and (b) a component containing water as blowing agent, for the pressure-less production of lightweight polyurethane foam without using other blowing agents. The proportions of the components in this kit are such that the free foam formed after mixing (a) and (b) has a density of less than 25 kg/m3> and at least some of the polyisocyanate is in the form of prepolymers. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of water-blown lightweight polyurethane foam with a density of less than 28 kg/m3> by mixing the components of this kit and then filling the mixture into a cavity or applying it to a substrate surface.
