Cyclone separator (1) comprises a cylindrical housing part (20) containing a separating wheel (10) and having a tangential inlet housing (3) and a fine dust outlet (8), and a lower separating region (7) consisting of a conical housing (21) adjoining the bottom of the cylindrical housing part and having a product outlet (25) and a secondary air inlet (24). The flow cross-section in the flow direction of the product is constricted at at least one point (9) in front of the separator region. Preferred Features: The flow cross-section is constructed between the separator wheel and the wall (20a) of the cylindrical housing part.
