Process for preparing a coextruded heat-sealable peelable polyester film

A method for the production of biaxially-oriented polyester film with a base layer (B) and a heat-sealable, peelable outer layer (A), in which (A) contains a polyester with both aromatic and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid units and the film is obtained by coextrusion followed by simultaneous biaxial stretching and heat-fixing. A method for the production of biaxially-oriented polyester film with a base layer (B) and a heat-sealable outer layer (A) which can be peeled off a polyester substrate, in which (A) comprises 60-99 wt% polyester consisting of 12-89 wt% aromatic dicarboxylic acid units and 11-88 mol% aliphatic dicarboxylic acid units. The method involves (a) coextrusion of (B) and (A) to form unoriented film, (b) simultaneous biaxial stretching and (c) heat fixing.
