FIELD: treatment of gaseous radioactive wastes. ^ SUBSTANCE: filter for air cleaning from radioactive iodine has a multilayer filtering element. The first (for the cleaned air) layer of the filtering element is fabricated from carbonized carbon-fiber filtrated nonimpregnated material at the surface density not less than 200g/m2. The filter has the layers, fabricated from filtrated sorpting material, containing the particles of high porous sorbent, impregnated with potassium iodide, tertiary amine nitrate silver and/or barium iodide in the quantity not more than 10%.
