FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contains common cylinder block accommodating crankshaft with bearings, cylinder sets, mounted sets and under-diesel engine frame connected to lower part of cylinder block for use as oil sump which carries coolers and filters. According to invention, W-arrangement is formed by two inclined V-shaped compartments arranged symmetrically relative to vertical axis passing through center of crankshaft. Pistons of opposite rows of cylinders inside each V-shaped compartment and connected by articulated connecting rods, and big end bearing of main connecting rods of right-hand and left-hand V-shaped compartments rest in pairs on corresponding crankpin of crankshaft. ^ EFFECT: increased degree of unification of engine series according to power rating. ^ 4 dwg |
